PANTONE COLOR OF THE YEAR 2018 – ULTRA VIOLET

Lovely day to you all,  as our custom every year we bring to you the forecast color by Pantone which most times is the color that trend all through the year in the fashion world.

So if you’re having your wedding this year and you are still trying to choose a color theme, Pantone says Ultraviolet is the go to color for 2018.

According to Pantone, Ultraviolet is ” A dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade, PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.

Color of the Year 2018 - Quote from Lee Eiseman

Complex and contemplative, Ultra Violet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now. The vast and limitless night sky is symbolic of what is possible and continues to inspire the desire to pursue a world beyond our own”.

Enigmatic purples have also long been symbolic of counterculture, unconventionality, and artistic brilliance. Musical icons Prince, David Bowie, and Jimi Hendrix brought shades of Ultra Violet to the forefront of western pop culture as personal expressions of individuality. Nuanced and full of emotion, the depth of PANTONE 18-3838 Ultra Violet symbolizes experimentation and non-conformity, spurring individuals to imagine their unique mark on the world, and push boundaries through creative outlets.

Historically, there has been a mystical or spiritual quality attached to Ultra Violet. The color is often associated with mindfulness practices, which offer a higher ground to those seeking refuge from today’s over-stimulated world. The use of purple-toned lighting in meditation spaces and other gathering places energizes the communities that gather there and inspire connection.

In our next post, we will be listing other colors that can match ultra violet perfectly for your asoebi color combination or for your event color theme.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Hello everyone and happy New Year! I know it’s coming quite late but as they say “it’s better late than ever”
For those of you following me on Instagram and on Facebook, I have sent messages out to welcome us all into 2017. so if you are not following @theasoebijunkie on our social media platforms (Face book, Twitter and Instagram)kindly do so now for more updates on the brand.

I will like to specially thank all our blog followers and readers for their immense love towards the brand all through 2016 as we are look forward to a fashion-forward and funfilled 2017. God bless you all.
Like I shared on Instagram, every year i wait for my church to announce our mantra for the year and i just stick to declaring that for myself throughout the year as I set goals and try my best by Gods grace to make them realities. But this year 2017, I’m taking a different route as I have decided to declare a personal mantra for myself which is that 2017 shall be year of PEACE! Over the years, I get so anxious about goals, business decisions and life as a whole and I have discovered that this disturbs me majorly and always have negative effect on me especially my outlook and productivity (including blogging).
So I have made a conscious decision that this year 2017, no matter what happens I Modupe will be PEACEFUL within and without.

Do you have a resolution, goals or a mantra for 2017and Will you like to share them with me? It will be amazing to talk about that in the comments section. Please drop a line or two.

Having done that, I will like us to look forward to an amazing 2017 as I will be sharing great content on African fashion and fabrics as well as sales and personal style posts.

Have a great year ahead!

THE TEXTILE FAIR

Grateful

Hello everyone,
Its been like forever(lol), how are you doing? It’s Friday, hope y’all have some parties to attend this weekend? Send pictures to theasoebijunkie@gmail.com if you will like to feature your picture here.

I had to force myself to rest after the #textilefairlagos which was a huge success to the glory of God.
Am very grateful to all the vendors that participated in this edition and to all amazing shoppers from all over especially those that came from outside Lagos. We had shoppers from Ibadan, Makurdi and even Togo! #supergrateful

If you are following us on Instagram or Facebook, you would have seen some of the pictures from the fair, but if not follow us on Instagram @theasoebijunkie and like our Facebook page @theasoebijunkie so as not to miss out on further information .
This edition was bigger and better than the first edition as we had accessories vendors on board and we had to put more effort in planning and setting up ( I actually slept at the venue) and was looking like a ‘broom’ at the end of the day. But the feedback from vendors and shoppers made it worthwhile. This explains why I haven’t blogged since then.

We hope to have another edition before Christmas by the grace of God, so start preparing your shopping list for fabrics and accessories to rock this Christmas.
But before then , let’s see some pictures from the second edition of The Textile Fair Lagos( not official pictures):
