Do have a blessed week ahead.
Last year turbans made a terrific come back into the Nigerian fashion scene and it became a ‘rave’. I remember some 20yrs back when my mum use to rock the turban fabric as headtie on Ankara dresses. Then she had the stripped and multicolored long velvet turbans that was like a scarf and you have to wrap it around your head for that elegant look. Now the new turban/ headers are easy to wear because it’s sewn into a cap shape and all you need to do is wrap the ‘tail’ part round and you are good to slay and pepper dem!
Also these headwraps have been twisted a bit to fit into our current fashion ‘taste’ and loads of party guests who can’t handle the stress of tying gele now opt for the turbans. They now come in different gorgeous designs and colors made from all sorts of beautiful fabrics and not just velvet fabrics. And are super comfortable (which is a very important factor in fashion).
The turban is now an essential part of your native wear wardrobe and can be worn on all kinds of outfits to create an elegant look especially on a bad hair day. Every woman needs a turban!
Let’s see some amazing samples that caught my eyes on Instagram :

Have a great day ahead.
Today I want to introduce another amazing and very versatile fabric that is fast taking over the fashion scene and lots of ladies are making drop dead gorgeous outfits from it- LASER CUT LACE.
Laser cut lace fabric is intricate, elegant and has a classic pattern that makes you stand out in any outfit.
Laser cutting used to be reserved for haute couture designs. But as consumers began lusting for the technique, and the technology was made more readily available to manufacturers, it’s become commonplace to see laser-cut silk and soft leather to make gorgeous lace designs.
There are different types of laser cut designs as shown below :
Laser cut embellished with pearls and stones
Cream plain laser cut lace

Hello my beautiful readers,
Over the weekend, my friend from way back invited me to a wedding party at classique events place Oregun and I was excited about it because my social life has been a bit dull as I’m always busy with business and family. But this is one friend I can’t say no to and I really enjoyed myself which is why I took some pictures for a post because most of the time I share with you style post of customers and stylish women that catch my fancy in order to inspire our African/traditional fashion sense as well as different unique fabrics in stock for sale. And you don’t really get to see the face behind the brand so I think this is an opportunity to show my face.
Enjoy the beautiful pictures of myself and my friends at my Owanbe :

Today we will be looking at one of the staples in our native wear wardrobe ANKARA TOPS as I shared sometime ago in this post HERE.
The Ankara Top is a must have for those divas and lovers of print that want to pull off that casual chic look to work on Fridays or that Saturday hangout and sometimes to church on Sundays. Best way to rock your Ankara top is to wear it on a denim pant with flats or heels depending on what is most comfortable and appropriate for the event or place.
So today, I will be showing some really nice Ankara top designs that you can replicate or redesign to suit your body type and most importantly slay stylishly.
Let’s the gorgeous prints that reflects our African heritage in our casual chic style :
