ASO EBI DIVA- BUNMI

Hello people, today am launching a new series tagged “Aso- ebi diva’’

Aso –ebi diva is going to be a monthly post, where I would feature a particular person (Fashionista) and show pictures of the person in different Aso-ebi materials and styles.

Aso-ebi diva series aims to inspire your dressing/combination as an individual or group for your next owambe. It would also help to determine colors and type of materials to look out for as well as trends that you can infuse your own style into to look drop-dead gorgeous!

Our first Aso-ebi diva for the month of October 2013 is a super sexy lady: Bunmi Ashiyanbi Adeeko.

Bunmi was my classmate at Lagos State Polytechnic, Isolo in 1996

Even though we were not close friends in school, there is no-one in that class (ND-Accountancy) that would not notice this diva.

She is sexy, beautiful, and gorgeous with a drop dead figure(you know the kind of figure that reminds you of the song ”she carry front, she carry back, she too package……..”) wink.

Even at that time Bunmi has a very high fashion taste and always makes a grand entrance into class at all times

After a while, she left Laspotech for Ogun State University (OSU) while I moved to Unilag and did not get to see this beauty queen again until one day when I stumbled on her name/page on Face book.

I looked at her pictures and I was not surprised to see her all grown into a super sexy lady, married with lovely kids (twins inclusive; I had to mention twins because I so love twins)

Now let’s see all I have been talking about

PINK AND WHITE

Hello fab readers, am sure some of us are getting ready for one outing or the other  today being a Saturday………. please do enjoy yourself and remember to send me some souvenirs (wink).

I bumped into a wedding post on Bella naija and just can help but scream WOW at the aso-ebi of the guests (guys, ladies and elderly guests). I so love the aso-ebi and just can’t help but put it here for you my beloved followers/readers to see, it might just inspire you for your next event.

The aso-ebi color used is pink and white and it looked so good on all the invitees

Enough of my advert (lol), let’s see the evidence:

Please note the way the aso-ebi is being combined on the ladies, guys and mamas

One color theme but interchanged between the invitees as some used pink for top(gele/caps) and white for body while others used pink for the body and white as gele. It came out so nice and the pink did not look too ‘girly’ on the guys and the guests as a whole.

I SO LOVE THESE WOMEN AND THEIR GOLD + PEACH ASO-OKE AS GELE ( even though it’s the same occasion, they are just a set of invitees who dared to look different)

A big congratulations to the couple (Mr. and Mrs. ladi Taiwo) and T.A.J.(the aso-ebi junkie) wishes them a blessed married life ahead.

COLOR PALETTES

Hello everyone, Barka da sallah to all my muslim friends and happy holidays.

Previously I did a post on matching color combinations for aso-ebi in which I discuss extensively on how to pick and combine colors for your party outfit. I also listed some colors that you can combine together to achieve a great look, but later discovered that most people do not know these colors and therefore cannot identify them by their names

So I have decided to show us some color palettes with names in order to help us know what each color looks like.

These color palettes would guide and help us in making fast and better decisions as we choose our aso-ebi.

SOUVENIRS! SOUVENIRS! SOUVENIRS!

Hi everyone,my sincere apologies for not posting any topic in a long while.

it’s not so easy combining a 7am- 6pm job with family and blogging at the same time.

 So now we are in the ‘ember’ months already and this is a time where most people fix their weddings and other parties.

Therefore, aso-ebi becomes the order of the day. And we all know that gifts are attached to aso-ebi by celebrants and in today’s post we are going to focus on SOUVENIRS!

 Most times when guests purchase aso-ebi from friends, colleagues or family members celebrating an occasion, we expect to get a souvenir attached to it (that’s our Naija thank you card)

Here in Naija we feel it’s a way of appreciating who ever took out money (possibly meant for something else) to buy aso-ebi just to grace our parties.

 The type of souvenir given out most times is relative to the kind or cost of material used as aso-ebi.

For example, I will not expect someone who sold Ankara material(6 yards) for N3,000 to give out electric iron worth N2000 as souvenir neither will i expect another celebrant that sold a lace material (Swiss) for like N40000 to give out plastic bowl of N50 as souvenirs.

The social status/financial capability of the celebrant can also be a factor when choosing souvenirs. Let me note that souvenirs are not compulsory but well appreciated.

 Your friends, family members or invitees are not honoring your invitation or buying your aso-ebi because of souvenirs but most people consider giving out souvenirs as a way of showing gratitude.

For the purpose of this post, I will mention examples of souvenirs that you can give out or attach to your aso-ebi at distribution point as you plan for your next ‘owambe’

Souvenirs nowadays can be anything from household items to groceries, electronics, kitchen utensils and even clothing materials.

Below is a list of items that can be used as souvenirs:

• Set of cooking spoons   • Set of pots   • Frying pans

• Set of knives, plates, kitchen napkins/gloves

          

 • Key holder  • Biros/Pen • Writing pad

 So you can make your choice within your budget and make your guests smile even as you get fulfilled having a well-organized party.
