2014 WEDDING COLORS: GOLD AFFAIR

TGIF everyone,

Hope you have all saved the date for the textile fair! It’s the 6th of December at Our Place, 7a Olufunmilola Okikiolu Street off Toyin Street, Ikeja, Lagos. Please come along with your friends and families, it’s going to be awesome!

Still in the preparation mode for the fair but i just want to share a color that really caught my attention for the 2014 brides.

Yes, 2014 is almost over but this color is so beautiful, elegant and alluring that I just have to share: GOLD

Before now I have written about different color combinations in the 2014 wedding colors series here,here,here and here.

For those who do not know, the 2014 wedding colors is a series that is dedicated to the 2014 brides-to be, who are still confused as to what color to wear on their traditional wedding day to help them in making a stylish decision.

So today am focusing on the ‘all gold combination’, it’s absolutely breathtaking!

Gold signifies extravagance, wealth, riches, luxury, excess, generous, compassion, love, power, justice and strength.

And this color is beautiful on all skin tones especially when it’s used in its totality without mixing it with any other colors as shown on the brides in the pictures below:

SHADES OF TEAL

One very hot color this season especially for aso-ebi of different occasions not just weddings is the teal color!

Teal is a low-saturated color, a bluish-to dark medium, similar to medium blue – and dark cyan. It can be created by mixing green with blue into a white base, or deepened as needed with a little bit of black or gray color.

Hence, teal tends towards two colors blue and green. The teal green has a medium tone of teal with more of green mix making it look like dark green while the Teal blue is a medium tone of teal with more blue.

Lots of wedding guests have used this color to sew fabulous styles and the pop of color as aso-ebi is phenomenal.

You can mix/ accessorize your teal fabric with other beautiful colors like white, coral, cream, navy, pink, gold, brown and even cobalt blue.

2014 WEDDING COLORS: WHITE AND GOLD

Hello my lovelies,
Happy new month and Happy Eid- Kabir in advance to my Muslim readers and happy holidays as well to everyone.
Am excited about the holidays! At least we can have a short rest before the Christmas holidays.

Okay, so today am bringing up another post under the 2014 wedding colors category, the 2014 wedding colors segment/ series is dedicated to the 2014 brides-to be, who are still confused as to what color to wear on their traditional wedding day.
I posted pictures of some color inspirations earlier here, here and here.
But today’s color suggestion/inspiration is a very unique and extremely beautiful color combination that looks good on every bride despite their skin tone.
Yes, It’s the WHITE AND GOLD color mix either you are using a complete asooke set or you are mixing lace fabric with aso-oke or gele or even if it’s a blouse and George fabric wrapper, the white and gold color mix or combination will make you stand out and give you that regal and rich look that every bride want to have on her big day.
White signifies purity, innocence, goodness, heaven, safety, brilliance, understanding, faith, spirituality, possibility, sincerity, wholeness and completeness
Gold also signifies extravagance, wealth, riches, luxury, excess, generous, compassion, love, power, justice and strength.
If these and much more are all that you wish for in life and in your marriage, then you’ve got the right colors.

SHADES OF PEACH

It’s Friday so the weekend starts today and we are in the ’ember’ months already which means lots of weddings to attend.

GREEN WITH ENVY

Hello everyone,

I was humming “the land is green” by Ty Bello to myself while scrolling through my Instagram page here and I came across these beautiful pictures of fabulous women in different shades of  Green fabrics looking very radiant.

I noticed that the color breathes freshness on all the women in the different pictures irrespective of their skin tones (from light to caramel to dark and to dark chocolate skin tones)

Green is bright, Green is life, Green is beautiful and Green makes you glow.

So if you need to choose a color for your next outfit and you are still contemplating on what color to choose, Green is a color to consider!

2014 WEDDING COLORS: PEACHES AND CREAMS

Hello all,

This post is enthused by a mail I got over the weekend from a November Bride to be.

She asked me to advise her on colors to choose for her aso-oke which is to be worn on her traditional wedding day.

And we finally chose peach and cream which is a subtle mix and a beautiful combination on most brides irrespective of their skin tone.

2014 WEDDING COLORS (3): RED AND GOLD

So i found another HOT color that has made brides appear super gorgeous and stunning this year.

It’s a beautiful color combination for the 2014 bride to be to consider when choosing colors for her traditional wedding attire so as to ” stylishly slay” and appear astonishingly beautiful before your groom and guests.

I also featured some other colors in the Part 1 (here) and Part 2 (here).

My next color in this part of the series is RED and Gold

Red signifies passion, sexuality and energy while Gold signifies wealth, success and abundance!

So you can imagine what you get when you combine these colors together.

2014 WEDDING COLORS: PART 2

Hello everyone,

So today’s post is the part 2 of the 2014 wedding colors series.

As i have promised in Part 1  here, i will be showing pictures of trending colors / color combinations to give us fantastic ideas and inspirations. 

My post today is going to be based on just one color of which anytime i see it on a bride, i keep falling in love with it over and over again.

And the color is WHITE! Yes nowadays brides tend to dress in an all-white ensemble i.e iro and buba (aso-oke) or sometimes lace fabric and white gele/headgear as well as white accessories.

This combination gives the bride a kind of regal look at the same time makes her appear very sophisticated and chic on her big day.
