My Owanbe Weekend

Hello my beautiful readers,

Over the weekend, my friend from way back invited me to a wedding party at classique events place Oregun and I was excited about it because my social life has been a bit dull as I’m always busy with business and family. But this is one friend I can’t say no to and I really enjoyed myself which is why I took some pictures for a post because most of the time I share with you style post of customers and stylish women that catch my fancy in order to inspire our African/traditional fashion  sense as well as different unique fabrics in stock for sale. And you don’t really get to see the face behind the brand so I think this is an opportunity to show my face.

Enjoy the beautiful pictures of myself and my friends at my Owanbe :

For the engagement party before the wedding I didn’t take much pictures but I got these ones that hubby took before I left the house.

I wore a yellow organza lace with multicolored sego headtie plus silver accessories and pearl jewelry

So that’s about all of my laughter filled Owanbe Weekend. I hope to bring more posts like this in future whenever I have the opportunity to attend parties.

Back to today’s post, I am again excited to bring our Star bride to be to you in person of Miss Omolara.

Beautiful Omolara contacted us requesting for a beautiful and affordable fabric for her introduction ceremony which is a ‘pre-traditional  wedding’ ceremony in Nigeria where families of intending couples meet with each other to make plans for the wedding of their children. I must say its a big deal here!

So you know she has to look her best as she will be the cynosure of all eyes and will be meeting some of her groom’s extended family members for the first time.
We sent options to her as per fabrics, color and Accessories combinations. And she finally settled for the peach on peach with gold accessories which turned out so beautiful and elegant.
Her boo also got a cream fabric with the peach asooke and they both slayed!

Let’s see the evidence in pictures from the introduction ceremony:

Awesome pictures by Debola styles.

Again, I will like to say massive congratulations to Miss Omolara and her boo. Your home is blessed and your star will continue to shine. I love you!

Her mum also got a tulle lace from us.
Looking forward to styling you for your traditional wedding and friend’s Asoebi soon.

ASO-EBI DIVA, Uncategorized

Hello all,

Am so happy to bring you another edition of the Aso-Ebi diva series once again.

The ‘Aso-Ebi diva’ series is a monthly series, where i pick a Fashionista/diva who is well involved in African fabrics/attires and show case their personal style for us all to explore.

This month of August am featuring a very beautiful woman- KEHINDE BROWNE !

Kehinde was my classmate in school (Unilag), and even as at then she had an amazing sense of style which makes her exudes so much grace in all attires.

This ebony black beauty has a model-like sexy body. You know those kind of people you refer to as

‘slim shady’,’ lepa toh badt’ lol

I also noticed she has a huge flair for African fabrics/fashion which is why i just had to choose her for this post.

Kenny (she is a twin obviously), knows how to combine colors to match her ebony skin tone and makes black truly beautiful.

Her accessories are also always super gorgeous on all outfits; from exquisite necklaces to bracelets, rings, earrings etc.

So, let me leave story and move on to the beautiful pictures of our elegant aso-ebi diva:

more of sanyan……..

My love for this Sanya aso -oke is ‘turning up’ day by day!

I saw some  pictures online and i just thought to share with my adorable readers to inspire you some more.

I need to get this aso-oke like yesterday *winks*

The aso-oke fabric is one fabric I really love, even though I do not have much of it because people rarely use it as aso-ebi. On the other hand it’s mostly worn by the celebrants especially for Yoruba traditional weddings by the bride and groom.

But now there is a new (well, not so new) aso-oke fabric trending now, it’s called the Sanyan aso-oke!

Sample of Sanyan aso-oke fabric

Sanyan is commonly used in Ondo state of Nigeria for cultural/traditional events, woven from the beige silk obtained locally from the cocoons of the Anaphe moth, forming a pale brown/beige cloth.

Nowadays, you can get Sanyan in not just brown but more fabulous colors like pink, coral, blue, teal and sometimes in a mixture of 2-3 colors.

This ancient fabric is a ‘stunner’ at the moment and can be used not just by the celebrants but also by the guests as aso-ebi for weddings, birthdays, child christening and all sorts of parties.
It’s absolutely beautiful, unique, gorgeous and a breath of fresh air!

Here are some pictures of gorgeous people in Sanyan:
