Today i will be taking a trip to the northern part of Nigeria and i will be showing you beautiful and super gorgeous brides of the Hausa ethnic group adorned in stunning wedding outfits and costumes that portrays the beautiful northern Nigerian culture.
The HAUSA BRIDE stands out amongst others on her big day , from the choice of color them to choice of fabrics as well as choice of jewelry (mostly gold jewelry) and also the beautiful henna designs on the body.
The Hausas are a bit conservative in nature especially in fashion. most times they appear simple yet super classy. the average Hausa lady believes that less is more when it comes to fashion but they add the E to EXTRA when it comes to their wedding day. check some other blog posts i made about them HERE and HERE
For this post, i will be showing you some pictures of Hausa/Fulani brides that caught my fancy while trying to put this post together. lets see the pictures *drum rolls*
What do you think? amazing display of Nigerian culture right? that’s what was on my mind too.
We have beautiful cultures and traditions in our country which make us outstanding as a nation.
Which of the brides is your favorite? let me know in the comments.
Thank you for reading todays post, next post coming up soon so stay connected *smiles*
One thing that is important in fashion is comfort. No matter what you choose to wear at any time, to any event comfort is key!
I basically live by this rule, which is why Kaftans and boubous are one of my favorite outfits. Kaftans and boubous are simple, yet classy and absolutely comfortable.
They give me the easy breezy vibes as well as rich aunty vibes. And also help to hide lots of “fashion sins” irrespective of your body type.
You can wear kaftans to house parties, naming ceremonies, child dedications, birthdays, church services etc
Kaftans and boubous can be made from cotton laces, dry laces, guipure laces, Ankara fabric, adire fabric, sample laces etc.
In this post, I will be showing you pictures of beautiful kaftans that you can replicate and just strut in with so much class and panache to your next event.
which is your favorite kaftan? share your pick with me in the comment section.
As we all know, fashion they say keep evolving and despite the pandemic the creative juice of fashion designers keep flowing especially our Nigerian fashion designers who are constantly stepping up their game in terms of creating unique asoebi styles for party guests .
One thing I have noticed recently is that fashion designers now put extra efforts on or should I say “play” more with the sleeves of their recent designs to give their clients jaw dropping outfits
They sew a basic fitted dress for asoebi and then create some drama on the sleeves which immediately switch the dress from zero to 100%.
We must also note that these dramatic sleeves design {in my opinion} is not for every BODY FRAME, because some can be overpowering and appear overwhelming on some body shapes which at the end of day make you look like a drag queen.
For instance, someone with a petite stature might appear smaller if the sleeves on her outfit are too bogus while another person with a bigger body frame will make heads turn in the same dress.
In view of this, I will advise that before you try out these beautiful designs with dramatic sleeves make sure you seek your designer’s opinion.
And in case you want to replicate any of the asoebi designs I will be showing you in this post, make sure it is perfect for your body frame.
Now, let’s take a look at pictures of some beautiful asoebi designs with perfect dramatic sleeves:
Which of these designs do you think will be perfect for your body frame? or which would you like to replicate with your next asoebi fabric?
Happy new year everyone, thank God we made it 2021!
2020 was such a dramatic year, the pandemic held the whole world to a standstill especially the fashion world.
No events, no outings equal zero fashion. We were in our pyjamas or lounge wears for months in 2020 but thank God we can move about now (still taking precautions) and we can also hold some events which we need to attend masking up but still appearing super stylish.
In the latter part of 2020 and the last one week of 2021, people have been slaying stylishly in beautiful fabrics sewn into gorgeous asoebi designs. I have some pictures from different Nigerian cultures to share with you as always in this post to inspire a 2021 celebrant or bride who is trying to choose asoebi color theme for her event.
Lets take a look:

I have been absent here since Covid-19 because it was a major hit to everyone of us. The lockdown probably locked my creativity juice as everything just turned around and all we were hoping for is to be alive.
Speaking about being alive, it’s my birthday in few days (30th of September) and as our custom is, we are having our annual birthday sales which is the main purpose for this post.
Like we did last year, we will be attaching gifts to purchases of 20k and above. If you buy Fabrics worth 20k on sale, you get a Free Sego headtie and if you buy Fabrics worth 30k and above , you will get a free asooke headtie 😊
Looking at the current effect of Covid-19 on businesses and the economy at large, having a sales on fabrics is not a wise decision but because it’s an annual event for the brand and also our own way of showing gratitude, we will be giving discounts on some of our beautiful Fabrics in different colours.
Below are the fabrics (laces and Atiku) on sales between today and the 1st of October 2020, please make your choice and contact us for payment and delivery:
Also we have some Fabrics for men on sale because we know some of the our beautiful Theasoebijunkiestars like to match outfits with their partners .
